The shop on Old Highway 601

Rivers Edge Pickers is a working antique and collectibles shop tucked along Old Highway 601 in Mt Airy, North Carolina — Andy Griffith country, and some of the best picking country in the state.

The shop is run by Steven McHone, a lifelong collector who buys, sells, and trades every week. Walk in and you'll find porcelain gas & oil signs, coolers full of pop crates, video game consoles, cast iron, Case knives, coins, local memorabilia, and a wall of the kind of stuff you thought your grandfather threw out.

We're straight shooters. If you've got something to sell, bring it in or send a photo — we'll give you a fair number on the spot. If we can't use it, we usually know someone who can.
